THE PROCESS:

I look forward to working with you to create your unique piece of art.

My method is to start with photographs agreed upon by the clients and myself. I encourage clients to send me desired images, providing clarity and as much detail as possible. When feasible, I prefer to photograph subjects myself. In the spirit of the history of portraiture, I prefer subjects without wide smiles.

Step 1 - Contact me to arrange a commission or with any questions. My email is SPeck@middlebury.edu.

Step 2 - Send me images of the subject or arrange for me to take a series of photographs.

Step 3 - Agree on an image(s) and discuss approach.

Step 4 - Send me a deposit (check or money order) to 26A Church Street, Bristol, VT 05443.

During my work process, I will send digital images to you to monitor progress and suggest changes.

SIZE OF PORTRAITS:

Facial portraits are approximately 2/3 life size. A single subject will generally fit into an 11 x 14 or a 14 x 18 frame. Sizing of subjects is open for discussion as well, but small sizes do not adequately represent my art.

TURN AROUND TIME:

Most commissions take one to three weeks from confirmation of subject image, depending upon the queue. But I can work with you if you have special timing needs.

PRICING:

$300-450 for human and animal subjects.

$400-600 for horses.

Multiple subjects (e.g. siblings) may be grouped in one picture or done separately.

Framing services are available for an additional charge. The finished artwork can be shipped at cost; framing limited to plexiglass if shipped.
